Memento
The first
Constructed on the east-west axis, with a symbolic gate open to the four heavens, with a slightly slanted wedged tower on the left side of the building frame and bells in the air, the sculptural work offers an exciting sight even from a distance.
The geometric and organic approach and the creation of form respond to each other in the work of Péter Szanyi: memorial images of primitive reptile skeletons in natural science museums and the rib network of the vaults of Gothic churches appear in the receiver.

In the force field of this shakily built monument of solidity and fragility, a strange uncertainty can take hold on the viewer: it is undecidable whether the stripped church frame is a majestic construction, or merely a prop that once stood dignified, but is doomed to destruction, left alone?
